Schools Day will be back in 2022!
The UQDS Schools Day is a unique opportunity for students’ to gain experience and sharpen their knowledge in a relaxed and informal environment. It is a fantastic way to get some practice and advice before QDU Finals rounds, or to kick start a new debating program.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and activities, tailored towards different levels of experience. More importantly, students will then have the opportunity to practice skill acquired in three debates, receiving quality feedback from some of Queensland’s best debaters and adjudicators - consistently recognised as some of the best in Australia and internationally.
The competition is open to Students in Grades 10 and above, and we will pair teams based on age and experience. A date for 2022 Schools' Day will be decided upon and advertised during Term 2. Registration cost for Schools Day will be announced later; it will be inclusive of the day of debates as well as catering. Prompt registration is appreciated to allow us certainty to finalise room bookings from the University. The UQDS is committed to the accessibility of its Schools' Programs; if cost is likely to present a barrier to your school participating, you can contact [email protected] to negotiate alternative arrangements.

Schools Engagement
The UQDS is committed to developing the debating culture in Queensland primary and secondary schools. We accomplish this by organising an annual high school debating tournament and conducting training and development seminars for schools.
